Savannah Spurlock’s best friend says today’s court hearing was emotional
GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The preliminary hearing for David Sparks revealed new, gruesome details about how Savannah Spurlock’s body was found.
It was a packed court room Monday, Spurlock’s family and friends in attendance.
Sabrina Speratos, Spurlock’s best friend, said the hearing was hard to listen to.
“It’s emotional, you know, it’s hard to talk about,” Speratos said. “You just don’t ever hope to hear anything like that.”
She said she’s trying to stay positive, despite it all.
“I’ll be honest, not as bad as I thought it could have been,” she said. “We’re actually able to lay her to rest and we didn’t think that would ever be possible after so long.”
Speratos applauded Richmond Police’s efforts, saying she’s been kept in the loop as things developed.
She said for her, every day is hard, from planning the funeral, to seeing Spurlock’s family, to coming to court.
No one has been charged with Spurlock’s muder, but Speratos said with Spurlock’s body found the details are bound to unravel.
“I feel like it’s pretty cut and dry as to what happened to her that night,” she said. “And I think at the end of the day, she is gone and justice will be served for someone taking her life from her.”
