Salvation Army Is Dangerously Low On Winter Gloves & Coats
It kept gloves in a large, plastic bin.
But on Tuesday, there were just two pairs of gloves left.
The non-profit said the early blast of winter weather wiped it out of supplies.
The Salvation Army said upcoming coat and glove drives are occurring throughout the community to help the less fortunate this winter but those donations don’t usually come in until mid-December.
But with the dropping temperatures, it asked the community to donate gloves, coats, hats and other winter clothing as soon as possible.
The Salvation Army accepted donations at 736 West Main Street in Lexington.
Items could be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. at its clothing center.
It also accepted donations after-hours at the Salvation Army Hanger Lodge.
The group could be contacted at 859-252-7706.
