Safe Ride KY offering $20 LYFT discounts for holiday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – In an effort to keep drunk drivers off the road over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Safe Ride KY coalition will be offering $20,000 worth of free rides.

The Kentucky Distillers’ Association announced Tuesday that LYFT users can get two $10 discounts Wednesday through Sunday by entering the code SAFERIDETURKEY in the Lyft mobile application.

Since last December, Safe Ride KY provided 4,394 sober rides across Kentucky on high-traffic holidays like Christmas and New Year’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and
Thanksgiving.

Safe Ride KY is funded by the KDA, Lyft, the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Kentucky, Independent Stave Company and Buzick Construction and supported by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and Louisville Metro Councilman Brandon Coan.
