Roller Derby of Central Kentucky competes at home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Roller Derby of Central Kentucky or ROCK was back in town at the Central Bank Center for a home game.

ROCK is Lexington, Kentucky’s only amateur flat-track roller derby team.

Rock Stars (a team) played against Black-N-Bluegrass  Roller Derby. That game started at 5 p.m.

Indie Rockers (b team) went up against arch rival Fleur-De-Linquents.

After being on the road traveling to games in Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana, the team is glad to be back home.

“Oh my gosh I’m so excited,” said skater Cray.  “I get excited for every game, but it’s a really kind of special one we’re playing at home. Because so many of our friends and family get to come out and see us, which a little tougher when we travel.”

It’s even exciting for veterans like Catastrophe.

“This thing we all spend so much time training for and practicing for it’s so exciting to get to share it with the people that we’re here at home with,” said skater Catastrophe.

The last game was at 7 p.m.

The next home games will July 13th and September 7th.
