Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event starts at the Kentucky Horse Park
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – U.S. Olympic equestrian hopefuls are taking on some of the best international competitors at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The event starts Thursday, April 28th and runs through Sunday, May 1st. This is the only equestrian eventing competition taking place in the U.S. at the Olympic level before the Games.
Considered the ultimate test of horse and rider, the three disciplines tested are: dressage, cross-country and jumping.
Dressage will take place Thursday and Friday. The cross-country competition is Saturday and Jumping will be on Sunday.
Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event has been held at the Kentucky Horse Park since 1978. More than 80,000 people are expected during the weekend including riders and horses from nine different countries.
