Rockslide in Pike County hits business and covers road

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A business in Pikeville was severely damaged Friday morning after being hit by a rockslide.

According to Pikeville 911 Public Safety director Paul Maynard, two large boulders broke off during the rockslide around 2 a.m. on South Mayo Trail.

He says the boulders struck Road Tested Wrecker Service, hit several cars and brought down trees.

No one was injured.

Maynard says crews managed to clear the road that was blocked by the rockslide.
