27-year-old dies after being struck by car in Richmond
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 27-year-old Richmond, Ky., man dies from injuries suffered when he was struck by a car early Thursday morning.
Richmond Police and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the man as William S. Pollard. He died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he was taken after the incident, which happened at about 4:50 a.m.
According to Richmond Police, officers responded to the area of Eastern Bypass and Dwight Drive and found the man had been struck and was unresponsive.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was fully cooperative in the investigation, police said, noting they found “no initial indication
the driver was intoxicated.”
Pollard was pronounced dead at UK Medical Center at 11:42 a.m., according to police.
The investigation is being conducted by the Richmond Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit.
