Road reopens in Floyd County after mudslide

MCDOWELL, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky 122 in the McDowell community of Floyd County reopened after being closed Tuesday by a mudslide that was triggered by heavy rain, according to the state.

Both lanes of the road were covered in several feet of mud and trees on Tuesday.  The slide happened around 6:30 a.m., according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Crews worked for nearly 16-hours to clear the debris.  No injuries were reported.
