Road crews prepare for winter weather Tuesday night and Wednesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The National Weather Service Louisville office is forecasting 1 to 4 inches of snow Tuesday night through Wednesday, which will create snow covered and slick roads.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has road crews ready to go in preparation for the winter weather.

District 7 crews, which include Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties, will be on the roads until midnight before a new shift takes over for the overnight.

Motorists are asked to give road crews space for clearing snow on roads and in parking lots.

Road crews will treat routes as needed and contracted crews will assist in certain counties.

With snow falling as crews work to clear roads, previously cleared routes may still develop more snow coverage and icy spots.

Motorists are asked to take extra caution on bridges, ramps, and overpasses.
