Road crews plowing and treating roads

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – State and local road crews continue plowing and treating roads after ice and snow hit the region overnight into Sunday morning along with bitter cold temperatures.

Lexington Police say main roads in the city are clear, but bridges and overpasses are slick.

Officers say there haven’t been an unusual number of weather-related accidents, in part, because many motorists have stayed off the roads.

All motorists are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time and stopping distance on the roads.
