Road closed in Paintsville due to hanging tree

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- The state has closed a stretch of KY 321 in Paintsville because a tree that was uprooted during last night’s microburst is hanging over the highway and could fall.

The road closure is on KY 321/KY 40 between James S. Trimble Boulevard and Southside Freewill Baptist Church.

The state says it will take 24-hours for tree cutters to remove the tree.

The road is expected to reopen sometime Friday afternoon or evening, according to the state.
