Richmond Road Krispy Kreme Workers Robbed

Police said a thief robbed three people at a Krispy Kreme on Richmond Road around 11 Sunday night.

Officers said he was carrying a rifle and was wearing a hoodie.  He also had a white bandana across his face.

ABC 36 News was told he demanded money and took off after getting two wallets and some cigarettes, but no one was hurt.

K-9 police dogs tracked the suspect to the nearby Lowes parking lot, but that’s where they lost his scent.

Police said they think the same suspect walked to the Extended Stay Hotel just before the robbery at Krispy Kreme.

They said they believe he planned to rob the hotel but was scared away.

Police said they plan to review surveillance video from the hotel.
