Richmond Police are warning citizens of a phone scam similar to one reported in Lexington where people are told to pay a fine for missing jury duty or face arrest.

Richmond Police said a woman received a call on August 17th from someone claiming to be a Lieutenant with the Lexington Police Department.

The caller told the woman that she had missed jury duty and that a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

The caller advised that it would be necessary for the woman to obtain a $450 Green Dot card and bring it to court with her.
