Richmond man wanted for crash that killed pregnant woman
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Richmond man is facing new charges stemming from a crash that left a woman and her unborn baby dead.
The Lexington Police Department announced Thursday that 34-year-old Samuel Alex Turner was indicted on charges of manslaughter and fetal homicide.
Police say Turner was driving on Winchester road on October 11, 2018 when he drifted into the opposite lane and hit another car head-on near Patchen Wilkes Drive. The passenger in his car, 29-year-old Kayla McCoy of Lexington died from her injuries.
Police initially charged Turner with operating a vehicle on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition to manslaughter and fetal homicide, Turner has been indicted for wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance (meth), driving under the influence of drugs, and being a persistent felony offender.
