Richmond man killed in motorcycle crash

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Richmond man was killed Wednesday night when the motorcycle he was riding crossed the centerline and collided with a van in Laurel County, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was identified as 30-year old William Hayes. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.

Deputies say the deadly collision happened around 6:30 p.m. on KY 192, approximately six miles west of London.

Investigators say the lone passenger in the van, 65-year old Jessie Burkey, of London, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London to be treated for injuries. The driver of the van, 69-year old Robert Burkey, of London, was not injured, according to deputies.
