Reward offered in Powell Co. arson/burglary investigation

CLAY CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are conducting an arson and burglary investigation after a house fire in Powell Co.

Officers say the fire broke out on Irvine Road on Monday just before 1:00 p.m.

According to police, cash and a weapon were taken from the home.  Investigators say the fire was intentionally started in an attempt to conceal the burglary.

Troopers are asking anyone with any information to please contact them at (606) 784-4127, or to contact the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27ARSON.  Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
