Reward for information on alleged I-75 shooter grows to $35,000

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The search for Joseph Couch, the suspect accused of shooting multiple people on I-75, has entered its fourth day. The reward for information leading to Couch’s arrest has now reached $35,000, with the Laurel County United Way contributing an additional $10,000, and an unidentified donor has added another $10,000.

Authorities say 32-year-old Couch allegedly shot five people in their vehicles near exit 49 on I-75 on Saturday before fleeing into the woods. He is considered armed and dangerous, and the manhunt for him continues.

As a precaution, some school districts, including Laurel County Public Schools and Rockcastle County Schools, have closed for a second day while authorities continue their search.

Laurel County Schools will be closed again Wednesday, September 11.

Anyone with information about Couch’s whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement.
