Resident and firefighter taken to hospital after house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred on Sunday.

According to LFD, just after 2 p.m. crews were called to the 600 block of Bishop Avenue for a structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews saw smoke and flames, and were able to locate the fire quickly and put it out.

One occupant has been taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and has been displaced.

One firefighter was also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and exhaustion and will be released.

The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
