High winds bring down trees in Lexington area
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Rain and gusty winds associated with a cold front, moved across Central Kentucky Monday afternoon and evening.
Wind gusts of 40-to-50 mph were observed across Central and Eastern Kentucky, knocking down trees and causing traffic problems.
Trees were reported down on the outer loop of New Circle Road at Nicholasville Road, Stone Road at Pasadena Drive and Ware Road was blocked at the Fayette-Bourbon County line, according to the city.
A Wind Advisory continues until 10 pm Monday night across Kentucky, with wind gusts of 40 mph or more possible.
Winds are expected to diminish into Tuesday morning, with rain tapering off to more of a drizzle.
