Reports: American Pharoah stud fee $200,000

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – ESPN.com, citing a source within the equine breeding industry, reported on Thursday that it will be announced soon that American Pharoah’s stud fee will be $200,000 per live foal. The Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner is standing at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Woodford County. A check of the farm’s Website early Friday still had American Pharoah’s stud fee listed as ‘TBA.’

Zayat Stables, which raced American Pharoah, sold an undisclosed percentage of the horse for breeding to Coolmore.

On Thursday, Gainesway Farm in Lexington announced that the country’s leading sire, Tapit, will command a $300,000 stud fee in 2016.
