Report: 3 Firefighters Hurt During Campbellsville University’s “Ice Bucket Challenge”

ABC36 has learned that three firefighters were injured when the ladder to their fire truck reportedly touched a main power line during the Campbellsville University’s "Ice Bucket Challenge" on Thursday.

Michael Carter, president of Campbellsville University, told sister station WHAS11 that the marching band was being sprayed with water by the fire department on one of the athletic fields when the accident happened.

We’re told two firefighters were flown to the University of Louisville Hospital and another was treated at a local medical center. According to WHAS11, one of the firemen at UofL is currently in serious condition and the other is listed as critical.

A statement on Campbellsville University’s website is asking for prayers for the injured firefighters, and we’ve learned a prayer vigil has been planned tonight at 7 at Stapp Lawn.
