Rep. Barr to Welcome Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao to Frankfort

FRNAKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao to arrive  in Frankfort on Friday.

Chao along with Congressman Andy Barr will make an announcement regarding a nearly $8 million grant recently awarded to the city of Frankfort.

The grant was awarded to the city through the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant program.

The grant money will be used to revitalize the Second Street Corridor of the Commonwealth’s capital.

Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao and Congressman Andy Barr will be joined by Secretary Greg Thomas, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; Bill May, Frankfort Mayor; Cindy Steinhauser, Frankfort City Manager; Dr. Houston Barber, Superintendent of Frankfort Independent Schools; and Terri Bradshaw, President and CEO of Kentucky Capital Development Corporation.

DTS Chao and Congressman Barr will make the announcement Friday, May 4 at 12:55 PM at Second Street Elementary School located at 506 W 2nd Street in Frankfort.
