Red State BBQ shuts down Cynthiana location after hep A case
CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WTVQ)- Red State BBQ’s Cynthiana location has decided to close its doors after a former cashier was diagnosed with hepatitis A in November, according to a Facebook post they made Friday.
The Facebook post made by Red State BBQ can be read here:
“As most of you know by now a former cashier that worked for us for 11 days in November (11/12 – 11/21) tested positive for Hepatitis A. We can assure you that the employee DID NOT prep any food product whatsoever, but nonetheless the employee’s presence posed a threat. We apologize for the potential exposure to this illness. We simply had no idea.
Twenty-four hours prior to notification by the WEDCO Health Department our management team was already in preparation to have our employees tested and vaccinated. Obviously, our efforts were too late. The Hep A virus is moving very quickly across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
As such, we have made the ultimate decision to shutter the Cynthiana location for good. Questions and concerns may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. ”
