Red Cross helps people affected in Paris fire

Bourbon County dispatch says an apartment complex in Paris caught fire just after 6:30 Thursday morning.

A spokesperson for the American Red Cross says it is helping 18 people affected by the fire on Turner Street. It says people can not stay in two of those apartments.

Neighbors say everything is destroyed in one of those apartments, where a woman and her two young children, a four-year-old and seven-month-old, lived. “They need clothes, toys, furniture, diapers, wipes, formula baby food, food to feed the 4 year old, the basic necessities of the kids,” says Peggy Sanchez, whose family lives in the apartment complex.

Staff at the Red Cross says it does not believe any people or animals were hurt in the fire.
