Reading, Dr. Seuss To Be Celebrated This Weekend

A joint celebration of books and Dr. Seuss’ birthday will take place during a Read Across America event at Fayette Mall on Saturday, March 1.

The event, in it’s fifth year, is sponsored by the Fayette County Education Association, the Fayette County Education Support Professionals Association, and Fayette County Public Schools.

From 10 am to 3 pm Saturday, celebrity readers and special performances by Fayette County students will take place in front of Dillard’s in the mall. There will also be some reading-related goodies on hand for kids and parents.

Read Across America events, sponsored by the National Education Association, take place around the nation each year in conjunction with the anniversary of the late Dr. Seuss’ birthday, March 2.
