Raising Funds For Tillie The Dog Memorial

Tillie, a Border Collie mix in Berea, hiked Indian Fort Mountain for a decade. After dying from cancer in July, her owners want to put up a memorial in her honor.

She belonged to a family who lived next to the trails.

Tillie spent all day climbing the mountain with visitors, making around 10 trips to the top a day.

In July, Tillie died from an inoperable bladder cancer.

Community members have set up a memorial fund to plant a tree at the bottom of the mountain. They also plan to place a commemorative plaque there as well.

Organizers said it will cost $2,500 and have set up a memorial fund to cover the expense. As of now, they have raised $1,135.
