LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Friday! Don’t forget the rain gear as shower chances with return for your day today. It won’t be a washout but you can expect isolated-to-scattered showers during the midday lasting through the afternoon and evening. There will be a round of some morning showers that will be moving through south-central Kentucky. The early morning commute in Lexington will be mainly dry, as showers will be moving in during the late morning and early afternoon. In the breaks in the showers this afternoon, temperatures will actually be feeling pretty comfortable. Afternoon highs in the Lexington will be in the mid-60s, with upper 60s possible in southern Kentucky.
Lingering showers continue through the overnight and into early Saturday morning. After the morning shower chances, we will slowly clear out by Saturday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will take a hit on Saturday. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the low 50s once again.
A quick warm-up is on the way Sunday afternoon into Monday. Sunday will start off cold, into the 20s for most. However, by the afternoon temperatures will spike into the upper 50s. Upper 60s are likely on Monday as a strong southerly breeze continues. This will lead to active weather returning Monday night into Tuesday. Rain and a few storms are already looking likely for Tuesday of next week.
