Rain and thunder continue before a chance at snow
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Saturday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Saturday evening everyone, its been another day with above average temperatures and occasional rain. We keep that trend going into our Sunday before changes show up into Monday. For tonight, rain is increasing from the south and will last into Sunday. Locally heavy rain is possible along with some thunder.
That round of rain will clear out by the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds taking over. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s.
Another round of rain moves in Sunday night and last into the wee hours of Monday.
We will then dry it out for a few hours before the last round moves in Monday afternoon/early evening.
Colder air then works in here Monday night as we transition over the rain to light snow showers and flurries that will last into Tuesday morning.
At this time, little to no snow accumulation is expected across central and eastern Kentucky. But portions of northern and northeastern Kentucky can lay down some slushy accumulations. We dry out and cool it down into Tuesday afternoon.
As always, stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates! #kywx
