Rain & a few storms move in Tuesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Tuesday everyone! it’s a quiet start to the day, but we will be tracking showers and a few storms for the afternoon and evening hours. Most of the region will receive upwards of half an inch of rain, with higher amounts likely in the heavier downpours. These will be your “run of the mill” spring-time showers and storms, severe weather and flooding isn’t anticipated.

Showers and maybe a storm or two will continue overnight. Best chance of any storms will be early during the night. Showers will linger into your Wednesday as well, especially early in the day. Temperatures take a bit of a hit as well, struggling to get out of the 50s for most.

We dry out heading into Thursday but that dry spell is very brief. More rain and storms return to the forecast Friday into Saturday. This round will be ahead of another cold front that will drop temperatures as we close out the weekend. Temperatures on Sunday may not get out of the mid-40s for most of the region. This system will bring a bit more rain to the region than the system earlier in the week. Minor flooding issues could could be possible both Friday and Saturday. Also a reminder, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday. Don’t forget to “Spring Forward” or set those clocks ahead 1 hour Saturday night when you head to bed.
