Race for Attorney General being closely watched

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Another race being closely watched alongside the governor’s race is the race for Attorney General.

The race is between an experienced politician and a political newcomer who is endorsed by the president.

Democrat Greg Stumbo has already held his office once before becoming Speaker of the House. He lost his re-election bid to that chamber in 2016.

Daniel Cameron is a former U-of-L football player who went on to serve as legal counsel to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Cameron’s lack of legal experience was hammered home throughout the campaign by Stumbo but it was also challenged legally.
