Publisher: Escort’s book publisher subpoenaed by grand jury
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)- Kentucky grand jury has subpoenaed the publisher of the book by an escort that alleges former Louisville basketball staffer Andre McGee hired her and other dancers to strip and have sex with Cardinals recruits and players.
A text statement to The Associated Press from Kate Snedeker, a spokeswoman for IBJ Book Publishing, said Friday, “we recently received the document with regard to which we are considering an appropriate response.” The publisher is an affiliate of the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Larry Wilder, the Jeffersonville, Indiana-based attorney for escort Katina Powell, declined comment Friday on grand jury proceedings, citing secrecy restrictions. But he said via text that his client “has not received any subpoena from the Commonwealth or any other government agency.”
