Public input sought on Lexington’s redistricting proposal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s redistricting committee is nearing the end of its work to redraw the city’s Urban Council Council districts and wants the public’s input.

As currently proposed, if adopted, some districts will have noticeable changes from their current configuration and some residents — as many as 49,874 — would end up in different districts.

The new districts will be used in next year’s city elections.

See the proposed changes, precinct and district proposals and other information at the city’s redistricting page here.

Have something to say? There will be an opportunity for public input at Redistricting Lexington’s next meeting on October 20. Or residents can e-mail the Committee suggestions or ideas at

And to get more information or input, CivicLex is hosting a redistricting workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11. Access the Zoom link here.
