Program getting students to med school faster
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new program with Georgetown College aims to help high school students get to medical school in just three years.
ILEAD is a regional STEM career academy for students from Carroll, Gallatin, Henry, Owen, and Trimble counties.
The students work to graduate from high school with an Associate of Science degree from Jefferson Community and Technical College.
“This helps spark the flame that can be started so early and can be developed and enhanced as we go through and prepare for graduate school,” Georgetown student Channing Baker said.
The accelerated pre-med pathway from ILEAD to Georgetown College will start this fall for the 2021-2022 school year.
