Privately Funded Awareness Campaign About “Smurfing”
It’s when someone buys products containing pseudoephedrine and then sells it to someone else to make methamphetamine.
There’s a privately funded public awareness campaign that will provide signs for pharmacy counters that alert customers that smurfing can lead to jail sentences.
Governor Beshear joined lawmakers and business leaders on Monday in Lexington to kick off the campaign.
It is sponsored by the Kentucky Retail Federation, the Kentucky Pharmacists Association and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association.
