Private plane bound for Flemingsburg reported missing

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) – A private plane bound for the Fleming-Mason Airport in Flemingsburg was reported missing in West Virginia, according to WDTV in West Virginia.

The search for the Cirrus SR20 aircraft was suspended shortly after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday without anything being found, according to the news report.

The search was scheduled to resume Thursday morning in Wetzel County, West Virginia, according to the TV station.

The FAA told the television station that the flight originated from Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown, Delaware and its last known position was 23-miles northwest of Clarksburg, West Virginia.  The FAA told the station that there were two passengers on board.  No names were released.

The plane reportedly went off the radar Tuesday afternoon.  Authorities in West Virginia were notified of the missing plane Wednesday morning, according to WDTV.

The news report says it is presumed that the plane crashed.
