Principal: Student brought loaded gun to Henry Clay High School
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The principal of Henry Clay High School in Lexington says a student brought a loaded gun to school on Thursday.
Principal Paul Little Jr. sent a statement out to parents Thursday morning, saying, acting on a tip, school officials found out a student brought a loaded gun from home to the school.
Little says the administrative team and Fayette County Public Schools Department of Law Enforcement intercepted the student and confiscated the weapon before school started.
He says the student told them the gun was for protection in the neighborhood and not related to school.
The student was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property and will be referred to the juvenile court system, according to Little’s statement.
