Principal reports another suspicious incident involving Southern Middle School students
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- For the second time this week, Southern Middle School in Lexington is warning parents about a suspicious incident involving students.
Principal Frank Coffey sent out a letter today to parents. He says a group of students reported that a man was waiting for them this morning at the bus stop. According to the children, the man stepped out of a white van, and started taking pictures of them. Coffey says the students took their own photos when it happened, and the information was turned over to police.
Another letter about safety was sent Wednesday to Southern Middle School parents. Police say a girl was walking home from school near King Arthur Court when a man in a pickup truck approached her.
The school is encouraging students to stay in pairs or groups as they walk to and from school and bus stops. Coffey is also asking students to stay on main roads, and avoid darkened areas.
