Powell County authorities warn of mail thefts

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Powell County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about a rash of mail and package thefts in the county.

According to the sheriff’s office, mail and packages has been stolen and scattered along roadways throughout the county.

It’s getting ridiculous. Almost every street is on it,” Stanton resident Sarah Bledsoe said while reacting to the list.

Officials are telling residents to remove package deliveries as quickly as possible to prevent thefts.

They ask that anyone who spots suspicious activity or vehicles to report it to local law enforcement. If possible, they ask that you get a description and tag number of any suspicious vehicle.

Police say the following roads are known to have mail stolen or gone through:

Campton Road,
Cane Creek Road,
North Bend Road,
Nada Tunnel Road,
Brandy Lane,
Mill Knob Road,
Pecks Creek Road,
Brittany Road,
Hall Hill Road,
South Fork Road,
High Rock Road,
Meadow Drive,
Allen Drive,
Magnolia Drive,
Stanton Road,
Oak Hill Drive,
Morris Creek Road,
Maple Street,
Logan Lane,
Pine Creek Drive,
West College Avenue,
Sipple Street,
Riverview Drive,
East College Avenue,
Brown Street,
Derrickson Lane,
Buena Vista Drive,
Deer View Drive and
Hill Crest Drive.
