Portion of S. Upper Street in Lexington to close Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – South Upper Street from Main Street to Vine Street in Lexington will be closed for major utility construction beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

The closure could last up to six weeks, according to the city.

Parking will be unavailable in the construction zone, but the sidewalk opposite of CentrePointe will remain open.  Streetlights on the block will remain operational, according to the city.

Traffic will be detoured onto South Mill, but drivers can also use other streets such as Martin Luther King Boulevard to High Street.
