Police using social media to solve crime

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police in Lexington say they’re finding new ways to solve crime.

The police department says it created almost 30 videos last year, including three surveillance recordings to post to its website, YouTube channel, and social media pages.

Department spokeswoman Brenna Angel says since she started at the department in January 2016, she’s seen seven of eleven surveillance videos posted result in charges filed.
