Police To Increase Enforcement Of Texting & Driving Ban
They plan to increase enforcement of Kentucky’s ban on texting while driving with the help of a federal grant during the month of October.
The $20,000 federal grant will pay for voluntary overtime pay.
Starting October 1, officers will work in teams of 2 to find drivers who are texting while driving and to look for drivers under the age of 18 talking on the phone while driving.
People will be fined $25 and have to pay $146 in court costs the first time they are cited for texting and driving.
