UPDATE: Two suspects in double-murder arrested in Lexington

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people wanted in connection to a double-murder in Winchester this week were arrested in Lexington Friday, according to Winchester Police.

Lexington Police say they were contacted by Winchester Police around 5:00 p.m. with information where 23-year old Matthew Carmen and 25-year old Julia Richardson could be found in Lexington.

Lexington Police say the information was accurate and Carmen and Richardson were found in a vehicle in front of the Goodwill store on Mapleleaf Drive.  Lexington Police detained the couple on-site until Winchester Police arrived and arrested the pair without incident around 5:20 p.m., according to investigators.  The two suspects were returned to Winchester.  According to the Clark County Detention Center Website, Matthew Carmen is charged with murder and Julia Richardson with tampering with physical evidence.

The deadly shootings happened Tuesday night at the Washington Street Apartments in Winchester, according to police.

16-year-olds Adrianna Castro and Kayla Holland died in that shooting.

Four other young people were arrested and charged earlier this week in the case.
