Police search for suspect in Virginia Ave. shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –   Police are hoping a shooting victim will give them a few leads as they search for a suspect.

They say someone shot a man in the leg in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen on Virginia Avenue at around 9:20 p.m. Monday night.  Police say the victim was discovered in the parking lot of a Shell Station, across the street.  He was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening wounds.  Police say the shooter drove away.

Officers also say a bag of marijuana was found nearby, but it isn’t clear if there’s a connection.
