Police: Scammers Targeting London Community
London Police warned the community about a reported scam.
Officers said someone claiming to be from a utility company was calling people and telling the victim that he or she was behind on gas, water, or electricity payments.
Police said the scammer then asked for money and threatened to cut off the victim’s utilities.
The warning comes after investigators said crooks were recently targeting people in Woodford and Jessamine Counties.
The scammers reportedly told people that they had missed jury duty and needed to send money.
