Police: Richmond man arrested for stealing a credit card

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Richmond man was arrested for having hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards that were purchased with a stolen card, according to police.

Richmond Police say 29-year-old Robert Coney was caught with $620 worth of gift cards, $700 in Master Card Gift Cards, and $200 Vista Cards purchased with a stolen credit card on Palamino Drive Friday.

They say Coney also had the keys to 2012 Toyota Prius that he had stolen earlier and the stolen credit cards that belonged to the victim.

The gift cards were purchased at Meijers, according to authorities. Investigators say Coney was charged with Burglary 2nd, Public Intoxication, Fleeing and Evading Police, Theft by Unlawful Taking (Auto), Theft by Unlawful Taking U/500 Contents from vehicle, Fraud Use of Credit Card and Theft by Deception.

Coney was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
