Police reminding drivers to be patient with Luke Bryan concert traffic

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Luke Bryan takes the stage at Talon Winery around nine o’clock Tuesday night but people have been trying to get their spot to watch all day. Police are advising drivers to be patient with the increase in traffic.

The sold-out concert was rescheduled from Thursday because there was too much mud at Talon Winery and Bryan’s trucks kept getting stuck.

Talon Winery still believes all 20,000 ticketholders will be out Tuesday night.

“A lot of people did have to sell their tickets but a lot of people were asking for tickets so we’re still expecting a big crowd and even though it’s on a Tuesday people are ready to drink some wine and some beer,” said Lauren Manuel with the winery.

Police are reminding fans to be patient as they anticipate increased traffic before and after the concert. They’re preparing for traffic jams along the two lane road and are asking for everyone’s cooperation.

About an hour before the concert, traffic was backed up along Tates Creek Road past Man O’ War Blvd. Some people coming into the parking lot say they waited in traffic for more than a hour.

After the concert, police plan to monitor traffic flow. Officers say the two-lane Tates Creek might be switched to all in-bound traffic but only if absolutely necessary.
