Police: Mother and children shoplifted together

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a woman used her own children to help her shoplift.

Authorities say 33-year-old Lovesta Risner of Salyersville was arrested Sunday afternoon.

According to court documents, Risner is charged with shoplifting, endangering the welfare of a minor and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Authorities say a loss prevention associate at JCPenney’s saw Risner hide items and try to leave the store.

Documents say Risner’s children were also shoplifting and that she was encouraging them to do it.

Police say the items totaled $802.

Risner is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
