Police: Mom passes out, leaves infant in car

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a mother was found passed out in a stolen car with her infant child locked in another car nearby.

25-year-old Jamie Ivey was arrested Sunday morning on Fiddler Creek Way in Lexington after court documents say she was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a Honda Civic.

Documents say the car was stolen.

Police also say Ivey’s five-month old son was left in the backseat of another car that was locked and in the roadway.

Documents say the child was left alone in the car for at least two hours.

Police also say Ivey did not know how she ended up in the stolen car or how her son ended up alone.

She is charged with wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor and receiving stolen property.
