Police: Marathon gas clerk robbed at gunpoint
Investigators say a clerk was approached by a man with a handgun around 3 a.m Thursday. Officials told ABC 36 the suspect then ran off towards Russell Cave Road.
Police say they canvassed the area with their K-9 unit to track the suspect, but were unsuccessful.
Authorities say the clerk’s encounter with the suspect was captured on surveillance video. Investigators say they are reviewing the footage for more details on the suspect’s description.
It was not made clear what was taken from the store, but one neighbor said it’s a crime that’s happening far too often.
"It’s the second time. Yes, It’s getting sickening," said the neighbor.
"Why rob somebody? Get out there and work like everybody else."
According to Police, there were no injuries and no customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.
