Man accused of robbing bank and shooting at officers during chase

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Ashland Police say they know who was behind a bank robbery from earlier this month.

Detectives issued a warrant Friday for 34-year-old John Knotts, of Pedro, Ohio. They say Knotts robbed the PNC Bank on Blackburn Avenue in Ashland on January 9, 2020.

According to police, Knotts is in the Greenup County Jail, on charges related to a pursuit where Knotts reportedly shot at officers.

Police say evidence left from the shooting linked Knotts to the robbery.
